* **[Account Details Pane](accountWorking#account-details-pane)**

* **[Account Sales Tax Exemptions Pane](accountWorking#account-sales-tax-exemptions-pane)**\
  Account-specific tax exemption based on country jurisdiction and code. Multiple tax exemptions are supported per account. When a customer with a tax exemption purchases a taxable product, Commerce Engine will not charge taxes if there is a tax exemption on the account for the applicable country or region.

* **[Account Payment Methods Pane](accountWorking#account-payment-methods-pane)**\
  Payment Methods are the means by which a customer pays for purchases or in other words the account covers its transactions. Defined Payment methods are listed in the order of their preferred use.

* **[Account Add Payment Method Pane](accountWorking#account-add-payment-method-pane)**

* **[Custom Data](accountWorking#custom-data)**\
  Custom data lets you store Reseller (Service Provider)-specific data to Products, Rate Plans, Billing Plans, Subscriptions, Accounts, and Payment Methods as a pair of matched text strings, called name-value pairs. These name-value pairs can help you categorize and sort aspects of your objects. Use **Name** to define a category, and **Value** to define a specific item in that category. For example, you could use name-value pairs to track your sales teams. Define a name-value pair with Office as the **Name** and the city in which the office is located as the **Value**.

* **[Add Child to the Account](accountWorking#add-child-to-the-account)**\
  Commerce Engine supports a two-level account hierarchy letting you establish parent and child accounts. This is to allow for customers who use your product or service as a family. A parent account can have multiple child accounts that share the parent account’s payment method. Parent/child accounts can also use different payment methods.

## Account Details Pane

| Field | Guidance | Relevancy |
| - | - | - |
| **ID** | Your unique identifier for this customer such as the database ID. The ID is a string of up to 1024 bytes with digits, characters and special symbols support such as [anonymoususer1234@yourcompany.edu](mailto:anonymoususer1234@yourcompany.edu) **Note:** Use of the forward slash character (/) in Reseller (Service Provider) identifiers is not allowed. | Required |
| **Name** | Customer’s full name—typically corresponds to the name associated with the payment method on the account. | Optional |
| **Company** | Name of the company the customer is associated with. | Optional |
| **Email** | Email address associated with this account. If provided, the email address is used by Commerce Engine to send billing notifications. **Note:** Providing a value for the email fields is recommended. | Optional |
| **Email Style** | Format of email notifications sent to the customer. Select the option from the dropdown menu: - **html**—email is sent in HTML format - **plaintext**—text is sent as plain text | Optional |
| **Email Before Billing** | Indicates whether to send pre-billing notifications to the customer prior to automatic subscription-period renewal. Toggle right for **Yes** or left for **No**. By default, set to No.**Note:** This setting only affects Commerce Engine pre-billing notifications. Other notifications such as Success, Expiration, and failure messages, are independent of this setting. | Optional |
| **Language** | Select from the dropdown menu the supported language. These are Two- or three-character IANA sub-tag registry language codes. Commerce Engine uses this setting to determine which of its email templates to use when sending notification messages to the customers.**Note:** Commerce Engine supports both ISO 639 and IANA language codes, Amdocs recommends using IANA codes. | Optional |
| **Currency** | The currency you specify becomes the default currency for the account. Commerce Engine uses these when you send in a one-time Transaction or Subscription without specifying a currency. Only one currency can be selected per account. **Note:** At your request, Client Services can define a Global default currency for your business. Place your cursor in the box and select the relevant Currency. To search, enter the relevant letters in the search box.When you do not specify a currency, Commerce Engine determines the currency to use by proceeding from the specific to the general, in the following order: 1. Transaction 2. Subscription 3. Account 4. Global (Reseller (Service Provider)) default 5. Amdocs default - USD | Optional |
| **Tax Type** | Customer account-level tax exemption code. Overrides any individual exemptions defined for the account and instructs the tax engine to tax according to the matching predefined taxability profile (usually fully or partially tax exempt). | Optional |
| **External ID** | An optional unique ID you can use in place of the AccountId, or in conjunction with it by mapping the AccountId to your Reseller (Service Provider)-facing Interface, and the externalId to your external billing system.**Tip:** Best Practice is to use this field when you have two external (non-Commerce Engine) systems using two different identification schemes for the same customer. Note that the externalId must be unique or null in the Amdocs system. Attempting to create an Account with an existing externalId will return a Failed response to an update Account API call with no specific error. | Optional |
| **Shipping Address and Phone Number** | Used for shipping a product to the customer but can also be used in the calculation of applicable taxes. Resellers (Service Providers) who charge taxes typically use the shipping address as the first choice because that is the location where the product will most likely be used. If a shipping address is not provided, the billing address associated with the payment method is used for tax calculation. | Optional |
| **When viewing the Account Details Panel** | | |
| **Account Since** | An automatic entry created by the system indicating when the account was created. | N/A |
| **Parent** | If this is a child account that is linked to a parent account, the Parent's account ID appears here. Click it to open the Parent account. | N/A |
| **Amount Due** | The amount due on the customer account. If no value appears, there is no amount due currently. | N/A |
| **Past Due** | Amount that is overdue from previous billing periods. If no value appears, there is no outstanding debt for the account | N/A |
| **Currency** | The default currency on the account displaying the country flag and name. | N/A |

## Account GDPR Erase

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is an expansive privacy and security law that gives European Union (EU) citizens more control over their data and may often also be followed elsewhere in the world. Amdocs allows Super Users role holders to delete individual customer accounts when a customer requested erasure. Deletion is allowed only when there are no active subscriptions associated with the account.

Reseller (Service Provider) Super Users, complete the following steps to perform a GDPR erasure of an account:

1. On the **Accounts** filter search page, enter the **ID** or **Email** associated with the account.
2. To erase the account from the Account Search page, click the 3 dot Action menu for the specific account and click **GDPR Erase**.
3. To erase the account from the Account Details page, click **GDPR Erase** on the **Actions** panel.
4. On the **GDPR Erase Account?** page, confirm that the correct account **ID** and **Email** appear and click **GDPR Erase**.

   <img src="https://mintcdn.com/amdocs-spbu/itXsdbmkLJUvOY0b/marketONE/Commerce_Engine_User_Guide/images/accountsGDPRErasePopup.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=itXsdbmkLJUvOY0b&q=85&s=772f3fdd563cdfb8fd7942aae943f421" alt="GDPR Erase Account? confirmation page" width="1982" height="1074" data-path="marketONE/Commerce_Engine_User_Guide/images/accountsGDPRErasePopup.png" />

**Important:** Selecting **GDPR Erase** on the confirmation page deletes the individual account. Once this action is completed that account is completely deleted and can't be recovered.

The account identifiers are erased and a prefix saying Removed\_ is added.
