# User Roles and Abilities

## User Roles

The following user roles are available in Editorial Management Interface (EMI):

| User Role | Description |
| - | - |
| Super Administrator | The Super Administrator has the highest level of access within Editorial Management Interface (EMI), granting them full control over all functionalities and settings. |
| Administrator | The Administrator has all the same abilities as the Super Administrator, except for the ability to add and delete users. |
| Service Provider | The Service Provider is a role that can be configured by the Super Administrator as needed. Recommended abilities for this role include viewing, creating, editing, and deleting pages and programming, as well as setting page icons and labels. Additionally, the Super Administrator can grant the Service Provider the ability to view, edit, validate, and publish themes, pages, and populations. For example, the Super Administrator might assign the Service Provider role to marketing agency staff. An example of tailoring the Service Provider role: a user might have comprehensive permissions (view, edit, validate, and publish) for the "test" population/segment but restricted permissions (view and edit) for the "production" population/segment. |
| Source Provider | The Source Provider role is intended for end consumers and can be configured by the Super Administrator. The primary recommended ability for this role is to view pages in the storefront. Additionally, the Super Administrator can grant the Source Provider the ability to view, edit, validate, and publish internal links and the product catalog. For example, the Super Administrator might assign the Source Provider role to Merchants. |
