# Manage Populations (Segments)
1. Navigate to **Home** > **Populations**.
The **Populations** page appears.
2. Select what you'd like to do:
* To create a population, select **Create**.
* To view or edit a population, scroll to the **Population List** and select the edit icon 
for the item.
* To delete a population, scroll to the **Population List** and select the delete icon 
for the item.
A pop-up appears for confirmation. Confirm your decision to delete the population.
The **Create or Edit a Population** page appears.
3. Complete the required fields. See the table below for more information.
4. To save the population, select **Save**.
The population you created or edited has been successfully saved.
**Note:** You can back up your population configuration by navigating to **Home** > **Applications** > **Export**.

## Population Fields
| Field Name | Description Value |
| - | - |
| **Name** | Enter the name of the population. |
| **Description** | Enter the description of the population. |
| **Type** | Select one of the following population types:- Test - Production This determines whether the population is to be applied to a test or production environment. |
| **Export directory** | In order to prevent accidentally disrupting programming, add the following placeholder in the **exportDirectory** property: **%version/stg/%device/%module**. |
| **Resource base url** | This field is pre-populated. If this field is blank, contact your Amdocs representative to get this information. |
| **Display order** | The display order of the population. The lowest number appears first in the list. This is used for Editorial Management Interface (EMI) pages. |
