# Commerce Engine API

The Commerce Engine platform is a cloud-based deployment on AWS cloud. Its main interface is the Commerce Engine OpenAPI.

Commerce Engine is programmatically accessible via superior APIs that use secure and encrypted RESTful based communication web services to expose Commerce Engine capabilities.

Commerce Engine's main functionality as described in this guide is achieved via APIs. Commerce Engine's main elements described in this guide (such as subscription, transaction, payment method) become the object building blocks in the API. Functionality is achieved by calling the object endpoints for the required actions using Restful HTTP verbs.

Amdocs' Knowledge Center provides access to the REST API Reference Guide and an OpenAPI file (YAML) that allows you to see and even try the API calls listed.

Resellers (Service Providers) can use any REST client that is available for their specific programming language.

Once you deploy, two distinct Commerce Engine environments are available for accessing your deployment, a staging site (for testing purposes) and a production site.
