# Settlement Reconciliation in Commerce Engine

An essential task for all Resellers (Service Providers) is to ensure that the revenue generated from the sales of products and services is actually received. At the transaction level, the payment amounts shown as received in Commerce Engine should match the amounts processed through your payment provider. Amdocs recommends that you conduct regular audits to reconcile Commerce Engine transactions with payment provider transactions and deposits. Amdocs recommends that you use Commerce Engine reports to reconcile settlements on a monthly or quarterly basis.

A small number of transactions, usually well below 1%, may have chargebacks (disputed transactions) filed against them and may affect the settlement reconciliation process. For most Resellers (Service Providers), reconciling chargebacks is not necessary; reconciling transactions and refunds is sufficient for most accounting purposes.
