# Entity Status

All Storefront Gateway entities include a `status` property that represents the entity's status within the user lifecycle.

| Status | Description | Examples |
| - | - | - |
| **Activating** | The user account is provisioned but is not yet ready to be used. The end user is in the process of registering at least one AuthN ID and still requires verification. Depending on your settings, your organization may prevent or allow a user with the activating status to authenticate. By default, the setting prevents a user with this type of status to authenticate. | User signed up with Storefront Gateway with an email address or mobile number, but they have yet to verify it. |
| **Activated** | Activated and functionality associated with account is enabled. | User identity has been verified. The status was changed from activating or pending to activated. |
| **Pending** | Similar to **Activating** but applies to the case where an existing authN ID is being replaced. | User updated an existing email address or mobile number, but they have yet to verify it. The old email or mobile remains active until the new one is verified. |
| **Suspended** | Temporarily suspended but can be transitioned back to an activated state in the future. The account cannot be used to authenticate with Storefront Gateway. The suspension must be removed to allow for authentication and resource access again. | A user is on maternity leave or going on vacation, and the user's account is suspended for that time period. |
| **Deactivated** | Account is deactivated. | A user leaves the organization and their account status is changed to deactivated. This action is not reversible from the **Admin console** UI. Their user activity can still be viewed from the **Care console**. |
