Within Commerce Engine, a product is a Merchant’s service or item you present to customers in your online store. It can be a single item or a bundle of items from the catalog in Partner Ecosystem Management. For instance, you could offer a monthly credit monitoring subscription, or a bundle that includes the monthly credit monitoring service, a quarterly financial newsletter, and a one-time purchase of a budgeting tool. Commerce Engine makes it easy to create new products, reuse or modify existing products and add products to a subscription plan. Within the Commerce Engine Portal, easily locate existing products using advanced searching and filtering tools. Take it one step further, by modifying or reusing existing offerings. In Commerce Engine, a product can be disabled and will no longer be offered to new customers (or appear in the catalog). However, existing subscriptions of the product will continue uninterrupted. Flexibility is key, while also keeping control of offerings and price points. The product is where you can define the fixed price or set up a rate plan to bill according to the quantity of licenses (for example, software seat licenses). A price is defined per quantity unit. You can set this price in multiple currencies according to the global availability of the product. Once the product is sold as a subscription, the price will be selected based on the subscription plan currency.
