One important key to delivering consistent and superior customer experiences is to ensure that the customer is eligible for the products and offerings that are recommended to them. In MarketONE, customer eligibility for such products and offerings can be based on the following criteria:
  • User Identity (existing or new user)
  • Customer Profile
  • Service Profile

Eligibility for a specific service is evaluated in MarketONE based on Commerce Engine and Storefront Gateway. Storefront Gateway maintains the profile of the user/subscriber, while Commerce Engine manages the pricing and the catalog of the products and services. The user profile is maintained in Storefront Gateway, decoupled from the billing account relationship. Storefront Gateway also maintains key profile attributes for every user (like segment and demographics). Populating and syncing these profile attributes is outside of scope of MarketONE. It is expected that the Reseller (Service Provider) will populate these on the basis of existing customer relationship management (CRM) and/or data warehouse (DWH) applications. Note: Commerce Engine can also manage user identity. To support the eligibility of the offers for a customer, and to filter out the offers and products which a customer is not eligible for (or is currently subscribed to), MarketONE includes a rule engine where the rules relating to profile and eligibility are maintained. It is recommended that the eligibility of the prices and offers applicable to a customer be built on either their digital identity or a customer profile. The experience of verifying eligibility should be addressed in the following way. When the user is on the MarketONE digital store and wants to retrieve the details on the offers, Commerce Engine submits a list of the all the offers. Based on the user profile maintained in Storefront Gateway, and combined with whether the user is a new user or an existing user (and other service attributes), the rule engine filters out the offers which a user should not be presented with (either ineligible or existing offers).
