A product can have one of the following states at a time:
  • Draft: A Merchant has created and saved the product. This is the only state where a product doesn’t have to belong to a group. The Merchant can edit or delete the product in this state. The Merchant can add the drafted product to a group at any time.
  • Active: A Merchant has created, saved, and published a product within a product group. The Merchant can edit any product field or cancel the product if it isn’t attached to an agreement that’s active or pending approval. When a product is associated with an active or pending-approval agreement, the Merchant can only edit certain fields, such as the name and description. Resellers that have permission can view the product and request an agreement for the product. To have permission, the Merchant must select the Reseller(s) when the product is created.
  • Inactive: The product was active before but it’s now in an inactive state. The product isn’t visible to any Reseller but remains a part of its assigned product group. The Merchant can edit the product and make it active at any time.
  • Canceled: When a product has been canceled, it can’t be used again.
