Eligibility Rules
The eligibility rules are based on:- Customer account attributes, such as service tier
- The quantity (number) of subscriptions a customer is purchasing or owns in total
Eligibility Check
MarketONE evaluates eligibility rules in real time during:- Storefront browsing (this is handled by the Catalog API)
- Dry-run quotes and purchases (this is handled by the Purchase API)
- Subscription changes (this is handled by the Compliance API)
Core Features
- Storefront Browsing:
- Dynamically displays only eligible products, billing plans, and campaigns based on customer attributes and defined rules.
- Ensures customers see only the offers they qualify for.
- Quotes and Purchases:
- Evaluates eligibility during dry-run quotes and actual purchases.
- Applies discounts based on the customer’s cart and existing subscriptions.
- Ensures only eligible combinations are selectable at checkout.
- Subscription Monitoring:
- Tracks changes to customer accounts or subscriptions (e.g., cancellations).
- Re-evaluates eligibility and enforces compliance (e.g., removing discounts if the customer no longer qualifies).
Eligibility Scenarios
Below are common eligibility scenarios supported by the platform:- Multi-Subscription Discounts: This scenario allows Resellers to offer increasing discounts based on the number of subscriptions a customer owns or purchases. For example, a customer with three or more active subscriptions may receive a 15% discount on additional services. Eligibility is evaluated in real time during storefront browsing and checkout.
- Account Attribute-Based Offers: This scenario enables Resellers to provide exclusive offers to customers based on account attributes. For instance, Gold-tier customers may receive 50% off selected premium services. The Catalog API ensures only eligible customers see these offers, and the Purchase API enforces the discount at checkout.
- Introductory Offers: This scenario supports promotional offers for new customers. A Reseller may configure a rule that grants a three-month free trial or a discounted rate for the first billing cycle upon sign-up. The system verifies eligibility during subscription creation and applies the offer automatically.
- Re-Evaluation on Subscription Changes: When a customer modifies or cancels a subscription, the Compliance API re-evaluates their eligibility. For example, if a customer downgrades their service tier, they may lose access to a previously applied discount. The system automatically removes ineligible offers and enforces compliance.
Eligibility Service Flow
Step-by-step flow:- The Reseller enables the Eligibility Service in the Partner Ecosystem Management Platform Settings.
- In Commerce Engine, the Reseller configures eligibility rules for one or more of the following: products, billing plans, and campaign discounts.
- When the customer browses the marketplace, the Catalog API retrieves and displays eligible offers based on eligibility conditions.
- At checkout, the Purchase API evaluates the customer’s cart and existing subscriptions to apply relevant discounts and enforce eligibility.
- The Compliance API continuously monitors account or subscription changes and re-evaluates eligibility as needed (for example, if a customer’s account tier is modified or their subscription details are updated).
